What is CBD? CBD called Cannabidiol is non-psychotropic and is the most common phytocannabinoid found in hemp. CBD is a powerful antioxidant and there is now strong evidence that CBD treats chronic pain and has many therapeutic uses.
Where do you source your CBD? We use hemp that is organically grown in the United States. The CBD is CO2 extracted into the crude oil form. Further extractions are done to isolate the CBD to get the CBD isolate. Our supplier does pesticide and heavy metal testing of the hemp and again once processed into the oil. You can feel safe that our CBD isolate is free of heavy metals and pesticides.
What is the Endocannabinoid System? The Endocannabinoid System is a biological system that governs the nervous system and immune system. The Endocannabinoid system has cannabinoid receptors all over the skin, inside the body and in the brain. CBD and other phytocannabinoids feed this system. CBD provides many therapeutic benefits to the body by interacting with the Endocannabinoid System.
What is CBD Isolate? CBD isolate is a pure, crystalline powder that contains pure CBD. CBD isolate is derived from CO2 extracted hemp. Further extractions are done to isolate the CBD and all other phytocannabinoids are removed. CBD isolate does not contain THC and does not have a smell. We use the CBD isolate in our product because it does not contain THC, does not have a hemp smell and CBD has been studied for many years showing many therapeutic benefits.
Is CBD Isolate Safe? Patent 6,630,507 for CBD otherwise known as cannabidiol is owned by the United States Government. The patent itself states “[n]o signs of toxicity or serious side effects have been observed following chronic administration of cannabidiol to healthy volunteers (Cunha et al., Pharmacology 21:175-185, 1980), even in large acute doses of 700 mg/day (Consroe et al., Pharmacol. Biochem. Behav. 40:701-708, 1991).” This doesn’t mean you will not experience an adverse reaction to CBD. As always consult your phyisican before use or if you experience any adverse side effects.
What is a COA or Lab Report? COA stands for Certificate of Analysis and is used by testing labs to report what type of compounds are present in the test. A COA is important to know how much of each cannabinoid is in the product. In our product gallery you will see the COA testing for the CBD Isolate we are currently using. This shows 0% THC. We update this image with each new batch test of CBD Isolate.
What is Full/Broad Spectrum CBD Distillate? The Full/Broad Spectrum distillate is the CO2 extracted or ethanol extracted hemp containing not only CBD, but also THC, CBG, CBN, CBC and all the other cannabinoids and terpenes. This distillate smells very strongly of hemp and will contain 0.3% THC. If it contains more than 0.3% THC the product is not considered to be hemp and is illegal.
Why do you not use the Full/Broad Spectrum CBD Distillate? The smell of hemp is so strong, to cover it you need a stronger perfume. If that will even cover it. Our line of products are chemical free and do not contain perfumes or fragrances and most people do not want to walk around smelling like hemp and neither do we. You may have heard about the entourage effect and that full spectrum hemp works better than CBD isolate. For some things this may be true, but for our skin care there are some terpenes and canabinoids that are still unknown and may not be good for the skin. However CBD has been extensively studied and provides many therapeutic benefits and CBD isolate is pure CBD with no hemp smell. With CBD isolate we get all the therapeutic benefits of CBD without the smell and unwanted cannibinoids and terpenes. A final reason is we do not want THC in our product at this time. THC is still a highly controlled substance and considered illegal in most states. With full/broad spectrum CBD you get 0.3% THC and if the product was not cultivated properly or tested properly and there is more than 0.3% THC, then it is illegal. These are the reasons why we choose to use a CBD isolate for our products.
Will I get high or fail a drug test? CBD is non-psychotropic and will not get you high or show up on a drug test. The CBD isolate we use is guaranteed to have 0% THC. Topical use of CBD gets absorbed by the Endocannabinoid System receptors that are found throughout the skin and does not penetrate the dermal layer to enter the blood stream. You will not get high or fail a drug test because there is 0% THC.
